Affiliate Terms
Effective October 27, 2026
These Affiliate Terms are an agreement between you and Product Tools LLC, a Texas limited liability company that operates Grantlas (“Grantlas,” “we”). They cover the Grantlas affiliate program, which we run through PromoteKit and pay through Stripe. You accept them when you tick “I agree” in Grantlas or on the affiliate application, when you connect Stripe in your affiliate portal, or when you first share your affiliate link, whichever comes first. If you don’t agree, don’t join, connect Stripe or share the link.
1. Who can join
The program is open only in the United States. To take part, you must:
- be at least 18, and a US resident or a business organized in the US;
- have a US Social Security number or EIN and a US bank account you can connect through Stripe;
- not be on a US sanctions or export-restriction list.
Grantlas customers, including those on a free trial, who meet these requirements join by agreeing to these terms in Settings, which creates their affiliate account. You can leave at any time (section 11). Everyone else applies, and we approve or decline applications at our discretion. If you stop meeting these requirements, for example because you move outside the US, tell us at affiliates@grantlas.com. We may then end your participation, and commissions that were already payable will still be paid.
2. How you earn
- Each payment from a customer who signed up through your link credits you a commission of 25% of that payment, for as long as the customer stays subscribed, while the program runs on these terms (see section 11). A credited commission becomes earned and payable as set out in section 5.
- Commissions are credited on paid invoices only. Trials, $0 invoices and fully discounted months credit nothing.
- People who sign up through your link get 20% off their whole bill for their first year: their first 12 monthly payments, or their first annual payment. It applies only to their first Grantlas subscription. If another Grantlas offer applies, they get that offer instead. There’s no discount on a subscription bought with your own email address.
- The 25% is calculated on what the customer actually pays, after any discount.
3. How referrals are tracked
A customer is credited to the first affiliate link they used, for at least 60 days after they click it. Tracking uses a cookie and PromoteKit’s records, and it can fail. For example, it fails when a visitor clears cookies, blocks scripts, uses a browser privacy signal, or signs up on another device. A referral we can’t track earns no commission. PromoteKit’s records decide who is credited with a referral. If you think one was missed, email us within 60 days of that customer’s first payment.
4. Getting paid
Commissions are paid only through Stripe Connect. To receive payouts, you must connect a Stripe account from your affiliate portal and complete Stripe’s identity and tax information (SSN or EIN). Commissions earned in a month are paid about 30 days after that month ends. For example, October commissions are paid around November 30.
5. Minimum payout and unclaimed commissions
Payouts are sent once you’re owed at least $20. Balances under $20 carry over.
A credited commission becomes earned and payable only once your Stripe account and tax information are complete. If they aren’t complete within 180 days of the customer payment it’s based on, that credited commission is cancelled and never becomes earned or payable, to the fullest extent the law allows. It won’t be paid later, even if you complete your setup afterwards. This 180-day limit applies to each commission, including those in a balance under $20. If you’re owed at least $20, we’ll email you reminders before a commission reaches the limit.
6. Refunds and chargebacks
If a payment you earned a commission on is refunded or charged back, that commission is reversed. If we already paid it, we deduct it from your future commissions, or, if there aren’t enough, we may ask you to repay it within 30 days.
7. How you promote Grantlas
You’re welcome to share your link anywhere it fits honestly. When you do:
- Say you’re paid. Clearly disclose that you earn a commission, close to the link. For example, “I earn a commission if you subscribe.” US law requires this.
- No spam. Only email people who expect to hear from you, and follow the CAN-SPAM Act. No unsolicited bulk email, texts or messages, and follow the Telephone Consumer Protection Act for any calls or texts.
- Be accurate. Don’t promise grants, funding or results, and don’t offer discounts, trials or terms beyond those Grantlas offers.
- Don’t pose as Grantlas. Don’t suggest you work for us or speak for us, and don’t use sites, accounts or ads that look like ours.
- Your display name. We show the name you choose to people who open your link. Your display name must not impersonate another person or brand. We may change or remove it.
- No paid search on our name. Don’t bid on “Grantlas” or misspellings of it in search or social ads, and don’t register domain names or social handles that contain it.
- No tricks. No cookie stuffing, hidden links, fake or incentivized signups, or anything else that credits you for a customer you didn’t refer.
You may use the Grantlas name to describe and link to Grantlas truthfully. This program gives you no other right to our name, logo or content. If we ask you to change or remove something you published about Grantlas, do it within 5 business days.
8. Self-referral and fraud
Self-referral isn’t allowed. You earn nothing on a Grantlas account that is your own, or that is for your own organization, your employer or your household. If we reasonably believe a commission came from self-referral, fraud or a breach of section 7, we may withhold or reverse it.
9. Taxes and your relationship with us
You’re an independent contractor, not our employee, agent or partner, and you can’t make promises or commitments for Grantlas. You’re responsible for your own taxes on commissions. 1099-NEC forms for affiliates paid through Stripe Connect are filed through PromoteKit.
10. Personal information
We and our providers, PromoteKit and Stripe, use your name, email address, referral activity and payout details to run the program and pay you. People who open your link see your display name. Stripe collects and holds your identity and tax information; we don’t see it. Your affiliate portal doesn’t show the email addresses of customers you refer. If you learn personal information about a customer you referred, use it only to follow your referrals, and don’t share it or use it for anything else. See our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes and ending the program
We may change these terms or the program at any time with at least 30 days’ notice by email. That includes changing the commission rate and limiting how long a referred customer earns you commissions, for customers you have already referred as well as new ones. We may also end the program with the same notice. Commissions on payments made before a change or the end of the program are paid under the terms in effect when those payments were made. If you keep taking part after a change takes effect, you accept it.
You can leave the program at any time by emailing us. Commissions that were already payable will be paid. We may end your participation at any time with notice. If we end it because you broke these terms, unpaid commissions are not paid.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The program, the affiliate portal and the tracking are provided “as is.” We don’t promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you will earn any amount. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits. Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the greater of the commissions we paid you in the 12 months before the claim or $100. This limit doesn’t apply to commissions you’ve earned and we haven’t paid.
13. Your responsibility for your promotion
You’ll defend us and cover our losses, including reasonable legal fees, from any claim or government inquiry caused by how you promote Grantlas, including any breach of section 7.
14. Disputes and arbitration
Talk to us first. Before starting a claim, email affiliates@grantlas.com describing the problem. We’ll both try to resolve it in good faith for 30 days. Deadlines to file a claim are paused during those 30 days.
Binding individual arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the affiliate program that isn’t resolved that way will be decided by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator, seated in Dallas, Texas. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitrator’s award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may ask a court for an injunction to stop misuse of its name, brand or intellectual property.
Fees and hearings. For claims under $10,000, we’ll pay all AAA filing, administrative and arbitrator fees beyond what you would pay to file a case in court, and the hearing may be held by video or decided on written submissions. You may bring a small claims case in the county where you live or in Texas.
No class actions. You and we may bring claims only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one affiliate. If this paragraph is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to the courts in section 15 and not to class arbitration. A court, not the arbitrator, decides whether this paragraph is enforceable.
JURY TRIAL WAIVER. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL FOR ANY DISPUTE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM.
A change we make to this section applies only to disputes that arise after the change takes effect.
15. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. For anything not decided by arbitration under section 14, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas. We give notice by email to the address on your affiliate account. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition or sale of our business. If you’re also a Grantlas customer, our Terms of Service continue to govern your use of Grantlas. These Affiliate Terms govern the affiliate program.
Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15 survive the end of your participation. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the extent possible and the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a part of these terms isn’t a waiver of it. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the affiliate program.
